Gridbinder · Number Paths

Number Paths puzzle book maker for KDP and e-ink

Number Paths is the puzzle where you join matching numbers with paths that fill the whole grid. Nikoli calls it Numberlink. It suits solvers who like to work out routes, and we did not find it in any KDP puzzle generator we looked at.

Choose the levels, the trim size and the number of puzzles. Gridbinder makes the grids, the how-to page, the answer key and a Verification report in one PDF. The free 12-puzzle sample has a watermark and needs no account.

Why the proof matters here

In Number Paths every cell must be used, so a loose puzzle can have a second way to route the paths that also fills the grid, and the reader's neat solution disagrees with the answer key. Gridbinder searches each grid for a second solution and discards it if one exists, and a step-by-step solver must finish it using rules a person can apply, so no page depends on a guess.

Books end with a Verification report (on unless you switch it off): each puzzle with its level and size, the number of solutions a complete search found, and, for every type with a step-by-step solver, how it finished the puzzle.

How to solve, as printed in the book

Connect each pair of matching numbers with a path that steps from cell to cell across or down, never diagonally.

Paths never cross or branch, and every cell of the grid is used by exactly one path.

Questions

What grid sizes do the Number Paths levels use?

Easy is 5 x 5, Medium 6 x 6, Hard 7 x 7 and Challenge 8 x 8.

What are the rules, as printed in the book?

Connect each pair of matching numbers with a path that steps from cell to cell across or down. Paths never cross or branch, and every cell of the grid is used by exactly one path.

What makes Hard and Challenge harder?

Bigger grids, and Hard and Challenge puzzles may need a one-step what-if check. Easy and Medium use direct deductions only. Very small easy grids have a limited number of layouts, so two of them can occasionally match.
